Description Marcus Porcius Cato Uticensis [95-46 BC] was commonly known as Cato the Younger (Cato Minor). Cato was a Roman senator in the late Republic. A noted orator and a follower of the Stoic philosophy, he is remembered for his stubbornness and tenacity (especially in his lengthy conflict with Julius Caesar) and was one of the most active defenders of the Republic.
