Description 1776 Continental Dollar with CURRENCY spelling  The legends on this coin are credited to Benjamin Franklin Obverse:   Bears the date 1776 with the inscription CONTINENTAL CURRENCY. Within is a sundial and below is MIND YOUR BUSINESS with FUGIO.  FUGIO is Latin for “I Fly”  the sun and the hour sundial was to convey time. So Franklin’s message was that time flies by so you should take care of your business now. Reverse:   Thirteen intertwined circles each with the name of a state (13 colonies). In the center is the inscription AMERICAN CONGRESS – WE ARE ONE.  Stamped with copy and  .925 Material:  .925 Sterling Silver Weight:      23.3 grams, 3/4 Troy Ounce Diameter: 38 mm
