Description The Mormon 1849 $10 Gold is one of the rarest of the territorial gold issues. They were stuck with gold from the California gold rush brought back to Utah by Mormon miners in the form of gold dust. Brigham Young established a mint to turn the gold dust into gold coins. At an auction in April 2014, a specimen sold for $705,0000.
