Also called Servius Sulpicius Galba Caesar Augustus was Roman Emperor from June 8, 68 until his death in 69 A.D.. He was the first emperor of the Year of the Four Emperors ( Galba, Otho, Vitellius, and Vespasian). After the suicide of Emperor Nero in A.D. 68, there followed a brief period of civil war. This was the first Roman civil war since Marc Anthony’s death in 30 B.C.
